Two suspects have been charged with murder in the investigation into the death of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor. Two more people have been arrested in connection with the killing.
2 Suspects Charged with Murder in Johnny Wactor Case
The charges were announced Monday by Los Angeles County prosecutors during a press conference at the Los Angeles Hall of Justice, hosted by Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón and Interim Police Chief Dominic Choi, local media outlets including Fox LA and CBS News reported.
The suspects charged with murder are Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada, both 18 years old. Barceleau's indictment includes a special circumstance charge of murder in the commission of a robbery; he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Both Barceleau and Estrada are also charged with attempted robbery and grand larceny while armed with a firearm.
Two other suspects remain in custody and face lesser charges. Leonel Gutierrez, 18, has been charged with attempted robbery and theft by embezzlement, both with allegations that he was armed. Frank Olano, 22, is charged with accessory after the fact to the murder, along with charges of receiving stolen property and three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
