Tony winner Jonathan Groff will star next month in a staged reading of a new musical about Bobby Darin, the 1950s and 1960s singer who scored hits with "Mack the Knife," "Dream Lover" and "Beyond The Sea," Deadline has confirmed.

With an eye on Broadway, Groff will be hosting a New York reading of Just In Time next month. Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!, Beetlejuice) will lead the reading, as he did in 2018 when he teamed up with Groff for an early concert version of the musical at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan.
The musical takes its name from the song “Just In Time” by Jule Styne, Adolph Green and Betty Comden, which Darin, among many others, recorded.
Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens have been hired to produce for a possible Broadway run. The New York reading will be staged under the auspices of the nonprofit regional theater Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia.
