General Hospital fans are definitely Lucky. Jonathan Jackson is heading back to the ABC soap this summer to play Lucky Spencer, 25 years after he left his full-time job on the show. (Bryan Craig is also returning, but only for one episode.)

Jackson follows in the footsteps of many other soap actors who returned for extended daytime TV appearances after primetime or big-screen stints. And several of these actors enjoyed Daytime Emmy glory for their encores!
Alfonso landed a breakthrough role when she took over the role of Days of Our Lives' Hope Brady (then Hope Williams) in 1983. She remained on the soap until 1987, then had a two-season stint on the primetime soap Falcon Crest. Alfonso reprised the role of Hope in 1994, eventually winning a Daytime Emmy Award for reprising it.
Delaney's first film role was as Jenny Gardner on All My Children from 1981 to 1984. She later starred in NYPD Blue from 1995 to 2003, for which she won an Emmy Award, and joined the cast of Army Wives from 2007 to 2012. And from 2020 to 2021, Delaney played Jackie Templeton on General Hospital, succeeding Demi Moore in that role, for which she received a Daytime Emmy nomination.
