Israel-Hamas war: Gaza reports first case of polio in 25 years
Journalists covering the war between Israel and Hamas have highlighted the enormous difficulties of covering the conflict, including bias and lack of access to information. One prominent Palestinian reporter said he was shunned by his community simply for doing his job.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Yousef Hammash, who has reported from Gaza for Channel 4 and others, said the international media had “failed” to inform the public about the war between Israel and Hamas since October 7 and to provide a broader context.
“We were exposed to one story and the Israelis were exposed to another, and that’s how the international media has been able to inform us,” he said. “They should have looked at it from a broader perspective.”
