Julia Louis-Dreyfus opened a panel of eight female Democratic governors on Wednesday with a few remarks about Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, while saying she was among those filled with "new hope and joy" about the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket.

The event in downtown Chicago was for the Democratic Governors Association and the DGA's Women Governors Fund and took place on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention.
“This is so cool,” Louis-Dreyfus said at the beginning. “We are very honored to have eight very intelligent, very capable female leaders for the 21st century — or what JD Vance might call a coven of half-menstruating witches.”
The panel included Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Maine Governor Janet Mills, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy and Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.
