Julia Louis-Dreyfus puts an end to comparisons between Vice President Kamala Harris and her fictional vice president character Selina Meyer.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus hopes to soon be able to say: 'Madame President is no longer a fictional character'
In a new interview, the star of the HBO comedy series explains why Selina Meyer doesn't look like the Democratic presidential nominee, despite having a similar trajectory.
"People might need to be reminded that Selina Meyer and Kamala Harris are not alike," Louis-Dreyfus told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. "On Veep, I played a narcissistic, megalomaniac sociopath, and that's not Kamala Harris. It could be another candidate in the race…"
Colbert asked Louis-Dreyfus if she could point to a character who resembled Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance, and she said, "That would be Jonah Ryan."
