The Spanish Union of Actors and Actresses posted an obituary for Ortega on Monday.
Although initial reports suggested the Spanish actor had drowned, authorities later said he suffered cardiac arrest while on shore. After paramedics tried to revive him for several minutes, Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ortega played the manager of the restaurant “La Cabana” in the Spanish drama series “Elite,” appearing in several episodes during the show’s first season. “Elite” was scheduled to run for eight seasons from 2018-2024, with the series finale airing on July 26.
