Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace has also officially suspended Timberlake's permission to drive in New York. The next court date is a lawyers' conference scheduled for Friday, August 9, which Timberlake is not required to attend. He could be forced to appear in person for future hearings as early as September 13, but Irace has deferred that decision, allowing the "special accommodation" of virtual court hearings for Timberlake to continue for the time being.
Timberlake is currently on a world tour in Europe and appeared in court today via video link from Germany, his attorney, Edward D. Burke Jr., said afterward.
During the hearing, Burke withdrew his earlier motion to dismiss the case after the judge raised concerns about its timing, content and value to his client.
