On Monday, August 5, 2024, the official website for the Kaiju No. 8 anime revealed a new trailer, announcing the release date for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2. Additionally, the website revealed that a new original Kaiju No. 8 episode called "Hoshina's Day Off" is in production, along with a compilation for the anime's first season.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will be released on Crunchyroll in 2025. Kōki Uchiyama will play the role of a new character, Gen Narumi. Additionally, the original episode and compilation film will also be released in Japanese theaters in 2025.

Crunchyroll, which is streaming the anime on its platform, describes Kaiju No. 8 as follows: "In a world plagued by creatures called Kaiju, Kafka Hibino sets out to enlist in The Defense Force. He vows to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in different directions."
