Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz will give an interview to CNN this week, Harris' first since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee.
The interview will air as a primetime special on Thursday, August 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CNN and the news network's platforms. Harris and Walz will be interviewed by CNN anchor and chief political correspondent Dana Bash from Georgia, in their first interview together.
The special, called “The First Interview: Harris & Walz – A CNN Exclusive,” will stream live to pay television subscribers via CNN.com, CNN connected TV and mobile apps on August 29. The interview will also be available on-demand beginning Friday, August 30, to pay television subscribers via CNN.com, CNN connected TV and mobile apps, and cable operator platforms.
Harris launched her White House campaign a little over five weeks ago — and since then, she hasn’t given a single interview to any mainstream media outlets, drawing criticism from Republicans including Donald Trump and his VP pick, J.D. Vance. Harris did, however, grant interviews to three content creators at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last week. She pledged earlier this month to schedule an interview with a major media outlet by the end of August.
