WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris launched a $50 million advertising campaign on Tuesday, capitalizing on the momentum of a nascent campaign against Republican rival Donald Trump with a one-minute ad titled “Fearless.”

It was Harris' first major ad buy since consolidating support for the Democratic nomination after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed her on July 21.
In addition to winning the support of major donors, Harris has also energized groups like young voters that Biden has struggled to win over.
Polls over the past week show the 59-year-old Harris closing the gap with the 78-year-old Trump. Trump still leads in some national polls.
