Kamala Harris made her first appearance on The View as a Democratic presidential candidate. In a very informal setting, she outlined a number of policy priorities and had a chance to respond to rival Donald Trump's lies about the government's response to the hurricane.
“It is the height of irresponsibility and, frankly, insensitivity,” Harris said of Trump's claims that FEMA money went to migrants, among other things.
“Lives are literally on the line right now,” she said, adding that Trump was “playing political games for himself.”
Harris also commented on the approaching Hurricane Milton, which is threatening central Florida, and the claim by the state's governor, Ron DeSantis, this morning that she has never called about any of the storms so far. She called him "selfish" for not taking the call.
