Kamala Harris Chooses Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as Vice President's Running Mate
WASHINGTON, Aug 6 (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, a progressive policy advocate and grassroots speaker from the American heartland to appeal to white, rural voters.
Harris announced the selection in a text message to his supporters.
“I am pleased to share that I have made my decision: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will join our campaign as my running mate,” she said. “Tim is a battle-tested leader with an incredible track record of achieving goals for families in Minnesota. I know he will bring the same principled leadership to our campaign and to the vice president's office."
