"She Embarrassed the Women": Megyn Kelly Criticizes "Weak" CNN Host Kasie Hunt
Kasie Hunt has long been known for her work in the political arena, but she hopes that in the future, people will think of her for news on culture or sports, maybe the weather. If the news is something strange or surprising, the early-morning CNN anchor says she's even "willing to pull faces on the radio."
Cable's AM news programming has thrived in recent years by focusing relentlessly on politics. Now CNN and Hunt want to disrupt viewer perceptions by widening the network's opening. "We want to be there for them, even if politics isn't the focus," Hunt said during a recent interview.
Those who watched "CNN This Morning" on Monday, the 5-7 a.m. to 7 a.m. show Hunt hosts — now with her name in the title — may have noticed a few new elements on the screen, particularly starting at 6 a.m. New blue-and-yellow graphics evoke the on-screen tones of "Good Morning America" or "Today." The 6 a.m. hour began with a three-person panel gathered around a round table littered with current newspapers, all discussing the latest ups and downs of the presidential campaigns of former President Donald Trump and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
