Durant suffered a sprained calf in early July and is keeping a close eye on the injury as Team USA plays its first Olympic match.
On July 19, Durant explained that he has seen "progress" in his recovery, according to the AP. He said, "I see how I feel after I do certain exercises. I keep running and see what happens."
Team USA head coach Steve Kerr said at a July 22 press conference that he has "no thoughts" about not taking Durant to Paris. However, according to journalist Grant Afseth, the team wants Durant to go through some training before considering playing in the Olympics. There are no plans to replace him with another player.
