Metcalf, who stars in ABC’s The Connors , is a four-time Emmy winner and two-time Tony winner. The signing comes at a time of looming change for the actor, as The Connors was recently renewed for what will be its seventh and final season. While a premiere date has not yet been announced, the wildly popular comedy is expected to air sometime midseason, likely in early 2025.
Three of her four primetime Emmys came for her role on Roseanne, with her most recent win coming in 2022 for her guest appearance on Hacks. She has been nominated for an additional eight Emmys.
She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 2017's Lady Bird, written and directed by Greta Gerwig. The role was also nominated for the Golden Globes, the British Film Academy, the Screen Actors Guild and the Independent Spirit Award.
