Lawrence Sher, cinematographer on “Joker” and “Joker: Folie à Deux,” will deliver a keynote speech at the SMPTE Media Technology Summit, taking place in Hollywood in October.

Sher has been a DP on over 35 feature films and is the founder and CEO of ShotDeck, a digital image bank widely used for research by industry professionals.
Carolyn Giardina, senior editor of entertainment technology and crafts at Variety and Variety Intelligence Platform (VIP+), will moderate the conversation with Sher.
Marc Zorn, head of content security and production security at Marvel Studios and co-chair of the Media Technology Summit, said the session will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from an experienced cinematographer and business owner.
