Displaced Lebanese families find shelter in Damascus suburb

Kassem Istanbouli has spent the past decade restoring abandoned cinemas and converting them into cultural centres for marginalised communities in Lebanon.
The artist, actor and filmmaker works under the banner of the NGO Tiro Association for Arts (TAA) and its theatre company in Istanbul. He has led the renovation of cinemas in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, but also in Beirut and the southern Lebanese cities of Tyre and Nabatieh.
