Wednesday morning's Emmy nominations made history in several categories, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, for which Lily Gladstone and Kali Reis were nominated for their work in Hulu's Under The Bridge and Max's True Detective: Night Country, respectively.
#LilyGladstone is the first Indigenous person to win Best Actress at the #GoldenGlobes #Shorts
These nominations, the first for both Gladstone and Reis, make the two the first Indigenous women to receive an Emmy nomination for acting.
To date, August Schellenberg is the only Native American actor to be nominated for an acting Emmy. He was recognized for his portrayal of Sitting Bull in HBO's Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee in 2007 in the category "Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries or Move".
Additionally, FX's Reservation Dogs finally earned Emmy nods for its final season, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai.
