According to the official description, “Glitter and Greed” will “explore the neon-hued world of Lisa Frank Inc., a brand that defined girlhood for a generation of Americans, only to disappear seemingly overnight. Behind the rainbows and psychedelic illustrations, we’ll uncover a nostalgic, stranger-than-fiction tale that takes us inside the hidden world that has been simmering at the heart of the company for decades.”
The four-part series features more than twenty interviews with Lisa Frank Inc. insiders and enthusiasts, along with various journalists.
Arianna LaPenne directs and co-executive produces "Glitter and Greed." Sony Pictures Television's Maxine Productions, which recently produced "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," is the studio. Executive producers include Maxine founder and president Mary Robertson alongside Lisa Kalikow, and Sony Pictures Television Nonfiction's Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman.
