Those About to Die | Official Trailer 2 | Peacock Original
The first track is by three-time Grammy nominee Woodkid and is the opening credits score for the series. The France-based director, producer and hit-making musician is known for epic soundscapes and his collaborations with the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey. The other track is by series composer Andrea Farri and is called “Citizens of Rome.”
“It is a great honor that Roland Emmerich chose me to compose this epic title theme for the show,” says Woodkid. “In this period of the Summer Olympics, the themes of sports, betrayal and revenge are very inspiring to me and they fit very well with the nature of my music.”
“To match the intensity of the story and the images on screen, I worked on building a powerful and melodic score,” Farri noted of his approach to his cinematic score. “Using a variety of electronic sounds, I created an unconventional mix of super modern and super archaic old sounds — a mix of orchestra, percussion, glitch and electronic sounds — that pack a unique punch. The score is a mélange that takes us from classical music to rap and everything in between.”
