“Whiplash” is coming to Beverly Hills.
After Hours Big Band – Whiplash (live)
In honor of the film's 10th anniversary, “Whiplash: In Concert,” conducted by Oscar-winning composer Justin Hurwitz, will premiere in Beverly Hills at the Saban Theatre on November 9 and 10.
Hurwitz will lead an 18-piece jazz band that will accompany a screening of the original film. In a statement to Variety, Hurwitz said, "A decade later, I'm still so proud to have been a part of Damien's poignant and thought-provoking film, which is why I'm so excited to celebrate Whiplash's 10th anniversary by conducting a live jazz band for the film at an iconic L.A. theater. I can't wait for fans here to experience the energy and intensity of Whiplash in a whole new way, watching the film with the music and insane drum solos performed live for them."
The concert series is put together by TIL Events and Street Food Cinema, in collaboration with Hurwitz Concerts, Cutting Edge Group and Bold Films.
