Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who succeeded Howard Stern from terrestrial radio to satellite in a multi-million dollar deal in 2008, has re-signed with SiriusXM for three years.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the official announcement, but Russo's national star has risen in recent months thanks to one of his side jobs on ESPN's First Take. The former personality for New York City sports radio pioneer WFAN also hosts High Heat, a show on the MLB Network on TV.
Under the new agreement, Russo will continue to host his daily sports program, “Mad Dog Unleashed,” each weekday afternoon on Mad Dog Sports Radio, a channel that launched when he first joined SiriusXM.
In a press release, Russo said he was "proud of what we've built here over the last 16 years. I love the platform and the freedom to be myself and do the kind of show that my audience and I enjoy."
