As the Paris Olympics draw to a close, Los Angeles makes plans for 2028
The Olympic torch will be passed to Los Angeles on Sunday, where the 2028 Summer Games will be held. But city officials are already busy planning and have learned a few things from the events in Paris.
Complaints about cramped spaces, bad food, limited air conditioning, uncomfortable beds, a lack of protein and a dirty Seine have plagued the Paris Games. Los Angeles officials have taken notes and think the city’s first Olympics in 40 years and its first Paralympics can do better.
Janet Evans is the Head Athlete for LA2028, the organizing committee that is bringing the games to LA. She has won four gold medals and set multiple world records as an American Olympic swimmer.
