According to Nielsen's latest monthly streaming report, The Gauge, Love Island USA and Team USA both contributed to a surge in Peacock usage in July.

The streamer took home a 1.5% share of TV last month, the second-best share ever recorded by Nielsen (it reached 1.6% in January) and up 33% month-on-month. That was partly thanks to the Paris Olympics, which kicked off in late July and had a noticeable impact despite only having three days of recorded viewing during the period.
Total TV usage increased 2.3% in July compared to June, and it was also up 3.5% compared to July 2023. Nielsen reports that the last week of July, which marked the start of Olympic coverage, pushed the broadcast average up to more than 22% of total TV. On average for the month, broadcast accounted for just 20.3% of TV usage — a slight increase from the previous month.
The Olympics accounted for the Top 5 and seven of the Top 10 broadcasts in July. The largest audience was recorded on July 28 with 19 million viewers for the first day of the actual Summer Games after the Opening Ceremony on Saturday night drew almost 29 million.
