French President Emmanuel Macron has been accused of encouraging excessive drinking after being filmed drinking a bottle of beer with Toulouse rugby players after they won the national championship last weekend.

Video footage from social media shows the president being presented with a bottle of Corona in the Toulouse dressing room after the match at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday. Macron watched from the VIP area.
After being asked to drink the bottle in one go, the 45-year-old finishes it in 17 seconds to cheers and cheers from Toulouse's coaches and players after their 29-26 victory over La Rochelle in the French Top 14 final.
“Toxic masculinity in political leadership in one image,” tweeted Green MP Sandrine Rousseau.
