The move was initiated in a speech last Monday by Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr.
Gonzales said the separate investigations by the House committees on Dangerous Drugs, Public Order and Safety, and Human Rights have shown that they are interconnected.
“(The nation) is currently grappling with complex issues involving public order, the spread of dangerous drugs and human rights violations,” Gonzales said. “We must address these issues in a coordinated and timely manner to ensure justice and the rule of law.”
