Composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and singer-songwriter Eisa Davis have tapped vocalists Marc Anthony, Luis Figueroa, Flaco Navaja and Chris Rivers for their new album, “Warriors” — a 26-song project inspired by the 1979 novel and classic New York City film, “The Warriors.”
Anthony will play Tato on the album, while Figueroa is attached to play Miguel. Navaja will play Jesús and Rivers is credited as the player from "The Bronx." The remaining cast members will be announced at a later date, according to an official announcement.
The album, set to debut on October 18, is executive produced by Grammy-winning rapper Nas and produced by multi-instrumentalist Mike Elizondo. Based on the 1965 novel by Sol Yurick, the “Warriors” set will focus on a fictional New York City gang accused of murdering the leader of a rival gang.
