President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the reopening of classes in public schools will proceed as planned, but the decision to postpone the reopening for areas hard-hit by Super Typhoon Carina will depend on school authorities.
PBBM says classes can reopen on July 29 if possible
During a chance interview during his visit to storm-hit Rizal on Friday, Marcos ordered the Department of Education (DepEd) to make every effort to resume classes on July 29.
"As much as possible. Hang on, but. If the school buildings are able to hold classes, they will do so (As much as possible, if the school buildings are able to hold classes, they will do so)," he said.
"It is up to the school to decide whether they can continue with this. Some will be forced to teach outside the school building. We will see," he said.
