President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to love the country's national language and stressed its importance in the development of Filipino identity.

In his message for the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa celebration on Thursday (August 1), Marcos said the commemoration is not just a reminder but an invitation to continue loving and enriching the languages we naturally have, which define our identity as Filipinos.
“It is good that the Filipino Filipino people feel comfortable with the nanggagalen of a large part of the population, and that he is the kahanga-hangang-pakkakakilanlan twee lang isang lipi,” Marcos said.
“Subalit ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa ay hindi lamang isang paalala; ito ay isa ring paanyaya na patuloy nating mahalin at pagyamanin ang ating mga wika.”
