President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday (July 22) thanked US President Joe Biden for his support to the Philippines during “a delicate and difficult time” after the US leader withdrew from the race for the US presidency.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Marcos praised Biden's decision to suspend his re-election campaign, calling it a “demonstration of sincere statesmanship.”
“We thank him for his constant and unwavering support for the Philippines during a delicate and difficult time. We wish him the best for the remainder of his presidency and for all his future endeavors,” the president said.
Biden withdrew from the US presidential race and endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic Party candidate.
