President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to continue streamlining procedures, prevent delays, costs and overruns, and enforce transparency measures in all government projects and transactions.
Marcos to DPWH: Infrastructure must be sustainable and inclusive
During the 125th anniversary celebration at the DPWH headquarters in Manila, Marcos Jr. tasked the DPWH to build and complete critical infrastructure projects on time, on schedule and within budget.
“You are not alone in this. The entire government is there to work with you to create the synergies that we can bring together to make that government more efficient, to make the bureaucracy more modern, more aware of all the new technologies and techniques that are available to us that we can use to our advantage,” he said.
“We are trying to set up a system that works and helps each other, so always remember this… There are many agencies and of course all the other departments, and by the way my own office as well, that are behind you to support you, to make everything we do a success,” he added.
