President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has warned the Filipino people about the threats and risks of artificial intelligence (AI).

Marcos Jr., however, assured the public that the government is monitoring transactions in the digital space to protect them from scammers and rogue online lenders.
“We continue to closely monitor the situation and do everything we can,” the president told reporters on Thursday after attending the Securities and Exchange Commission’s 85th anniversary as registrar of companies in Makati City.
“I think the registration of the SIM card was a big step and I think we are reaching the point where we have removed many of the SIM cards that are not registered from the system because they have been used for illegal purposes,” he added.
