Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas' love story through the years
After an outpouring of gratitude today for Phil Donahue, the beloved talk show host who died Sunday, Donahue's wife of 44 years, actor Marlo Thomas, posted a brief remembrance and thank-you note online.
Thomas thanked friends and fans for all the "wonderful messages of love and support," and also appreciated "the wonderful and generous way in which you have allowed Phil and me to share our life's adventure with you over the years. As a man who has spent his entire career loving his audience, Phil has gotten such a kick out of our cozy little community here, and I know he would be so touched by the heartwarming thoughts and memories you have shared."
She did so while sharing "one of my favorite photos" of herself and Donahue, in which they looked relaxed and happy while riding a Vespa on vacation.
