Disney and "Fortnite" developer Epic Games revealed details of a broad plan to integrate Disney brands and characters into Epic's cutting-edge game franchise during the company's presentation Saturday at its D23 fan meeting in Anaheim, California.

During the Disney Experiences Showcase presentation, Disney President of Parks and Product Josh D’Amaro and leaders from Marvel (Kevin Feige), Pixar (Peter Docter), Lucasfilm (Dave Filoni) and Walt Disney Animation Studios (Jennifer Lee) revealed some of the initial plans for the collaboration between Disney and Epic Games to build new games and entertainment universes tied to the massively popular “Fornite” game franchise.

"At Disney Experiences, Imagineers are dreaming, creating, designing and building these stories into real places. And we have Imagineers all over the world right now, because everything we're going to share with you is in active development," D'Amaro told the crowd. "Plans are being drawn. Digging is being done. I want to make this clear: We're doing everything you're going to hear about tonight."

Firstly, on August 16, fan-favorite Marvel characters Doctor Doom of the Fantastic Four will make an appearance in the storyline for Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom. The significance of this is that fans will be able to pick up clues and hints about the storylines for upcoming Marvel films featuring the characters, connecting the game to Marvel lore on a deeper level than ever before — a move with significant significance for Marvel’s most dedicated fans.
