EXCLUSIVE: Former Lost actor Matthew Fox has signed on to star in The Assassin, a new drama series from writer-producer John Glenn (SEAL Team) that's in development at Max, sources tell Deadline.

Gaumont and Entertainment 360 are pitching the series to the streamer in a competitive situation, with the latter identifying the source material and bringing in clients Fox and Glenn.
Written by Glenn based on the book series by British novelist Tom Wood, the project centers on a ruthless assassin known only as Victor (Fox), who, after being betrayed by an anonymous client, finds himself pursued across the globe by multiple enemies, including ruthless CIA agents and an equally deadly assassin. To stay alive, Victor must uncover the identity of his betrayer while grappling with a buried spark of humanity that begins to reemerge within him and may prove to be the greatest threat to his survival.
Wood has written eleven novels and two short stories about Victor to date, which have sold over a million copies.
