Publicist says actor has died
Maxie Solters, a publicist, writer, actor and producer well-known in the entertainment community, died unexpectedly on Thursday. No cause of death was released; she was 37.
Solters was born in 1987 and grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Theater. After graduating, she began a career in film and television casting and served as a coordinator for One Billion Rising, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending violence against women and others affected by gender-based violence. She has appeared in numerous productions and created, produced, and starred in her own comedy web series.
In 2012, she became the third generation of her family to enter public relations, following her father, Larry, and late grandfather, Lee. Her clients at the Scoop Marketing agency included the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Bowl, Music Forward and many others. Solters has also been involved with V-Day International and Women's Rights.
