McKenna Grace will star opposite Allison Williams in Regretting You , an indie adaptation of the 2019 novel by It Ends with Us writer Colleen Hoover, Deadline has confirmed. The news comes amid the theatrical release of Sony's It Ends With Us adaptation, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which is expected to be a huge hit, with an opening budget of around $40 million.

Written by Susan McMartin and directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), Regretting You centers on the complex relationship between Morgan Grant (Williams) and her daughter, Clara. Morgan became a mother at a young age, putting her own dreams aside to raise Clara. As Clara grows into a teenager, their relationship is tested, especially after a tragic accident takes the life of Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father.
The project comes from Constantin Film, with Robert Kulzer serving as producer along with Brunson Green and Anna Todd.
Grace was most recently seen in Sony’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which premiered this past March. Other credits include Friend of the Family and Searchlight’s Gifted. She is repped by Entertainment 360 and CAA.
