Erica Cervantez first got into business after having her son Kristofer. Photography had always been a part of her life, so after her husband, Franklyn, gave her a DSLR camera and told her to go for it, she did.
“I felt a little lost, not sure if I should go back to work or figure out a way to make money at home,” she said. “I was the kid who always had a camera with me, taking pictures of my family, capturing candid moments of friends.”
Six years later, Cervantez runs her own photography business, Erica Cervantez Photography, full-time. She started with free shoots, then started charging $25, and has been raising her prices ever since. From maternity shoots to weddings, family, boudoir, and more, Cervantez connects with new people every day and captures their special moments.
“I have clients who came to me in the beginning when I had no idea what I was doing, and they still come to me,” she said.
