This week, Lionsgate released a bold trailer for “Megalopolis,” an ugly but undeniably ambitious late-career monstrosity from Francis Ford Coppola, only to promptly retract it.
Typically, trailers are filled with hyperbolic quotes from less credible critics – “quote whores,” we call them – taken out of context and peppered with exclamation points (a form of punctuation rarely, if ever, used by critics in print, but ubiquitous in movie commercials).
