Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama Reportedly Turn Down 'Dancing With The Stars' Offer
Meghan McCain said on the latest episode of her podcast "Citizen McCain" that she's turned down three offers to appear on "Dancing With the Stars" over the years (via Entertainment Weekly ). She's also turned down other competition series, largely because she knows signing on for a reality show risks public humiliation, and she still harbors dreams of running for political office. According to McCain, "You can't do both. You just can't."
"I've been asked to do 'Dancing With the Stars' three times, and I've said no every time because I just don't want to publicly humiliate myself," she said. "I'm a terrible dancer and I don't do reality TV. The amount of reality TV I've gotten to do, you'd be surprised. I always think, What does my personality say that I would be good on this kind of platform? I'm pretty shy in real life. I would be terrible."
McCain noted that she "wouldn't have to work a year" if she accepted an offer to appear on a reality show, at least based on the salary her boyfriend Clay Aiken earned doing "The Masked Singer."
