'Birdman' Extended scene with Michael Keaton
Michael Keaton seems to have a bone to pick with the industry, having parlayed his Oscar-nominated role in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s “Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” into his grand Hollywood comeback. The actor never got the point of that awards season narrative, since he’s never really been anywhere in the first place.
"A very, very, very smart guy, a guy I really liked, said, 'Comeback—that's the story,'" Keaton recently told GQ magazine about his role in "Birdman." "I thought, 'Honestly, it's kind of bullshit.'"
Keaton isn't entirely wrong, as he's never really stopped acting for an extended period of time. The actor was coming off four years of back-to-back theatrical releases, including studio films like "RoboCop" and "Need for Speed," so it's not like he was ever out of the spotlight when "Birdman" earned him Oscar buzz and praise.
