Michael Keaton Credits Tim Burton for Success of Marvel, DC Universes | THR News
Michael Keaton helped his frequent collaborator Tim Burton get a star on the Walk of Fame, noting that Hollywood has made a ton of money off superhero movies in recent years, all thanks to what Burton started with 1989's "Batman," which starred Keaton in the title role. The duo returned for the 1992 sequel "Batman Returns."
"He gives me a script and says, 'Tell me what you think,'" Keaton said of his "Batman" experience. "This is after Beetlejuice . After that show. After those kinds of movies. He tells the studio, 'I want that guy.' I'll never understand why anyone cared. The fuss … you'd think we were being raided. It was unbelievable. The press went crazy. But he stuck by me. The courage it took to stand by that decision is something I'll always appreciate."
Michael Keaton praises Tim Burton: "There are a lot of people who make a lot of money off their superhero movies because of his choices and his vision of what those movies could be, because he changed everything." https://t.co/wxrWvt5aTS pic.twitter.com/F32Vp0xmHS
