Michael Madsen Arrested: Kill Bill Actor Charged with DUI, Faces Prison Term
Authorities at the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff's Station responded to a call shortly after midnight on August 17. The 66-year-old actor was arrested for domestic violence under section 243(e)(1) of the Penal Code, which means that force or violence was allegedly used against a cohabitant. The actor was booked into the station at 1:40 a.m.
"This was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope will be resolved positively for both of them," a spokesperson for Madsen said in a statement to Variety. Madsen is no longer in custody after posting $20,000 bail.
Madsen is best known as a regular star in the films of Quentin Tarantino. The actor made a splash in the director's 1992 debut thriller, "Reservoir Dogs," in which Madsen played Mr. Blonde, the criminal who famously danced to Stealer Wheeler's "Stuck in the Middle With You" while mutilating a hostage police officer captured during a botched robbery. The actor has had roles in all of Tarantino's films, including the washed-up hitman Budd in "Kill Bill Vol. 1" and "Kill Bill Vol. 2," the deceitful cowboy Joe Gage in "The Hateful Eight" and a notable cameo in the director's latest film, "Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood."
