Singer/songwriter James Taylor performs at Democratic National Convention

Taylor practiced "You've Got a Friend" in front of a largely empty United Center arena that afternoon. His rehearsal came about a half-hour before President Joe Biden walked across the stage ahead of his speech, which will be the evening's finale.

A DNC official also said Jeffrey Wright will narrate a short film from the convention that will be shown tonight. Dawn Porter and her production company, Trilogy Films, are producing a film about Biden and the Democratic Party.

Taylor also performed at the Democratic convention in Charlotte in 2012.
