EXCLUSIVE: MindRiot Entertainment, the transatlantic production company co-founded by Justin MacGregor and Jonathan Keasey, is launching a series of films it describes as “AI-ready animated films” under the name Hum-AI-ne©ontent.
MindRiot has partnered with Seattle-based attorney Philip Egger and his tech firm SJ4 for the venture. Egger and SJ4 have developed a new text-to-video AI technology that will be used to create the projects. Egger and his collaborators hosted a showcase at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where they showed off the new technology to industry players, before deciding to partner with MindRiot.
Hum-AI-ne ©ontent’s current slate includes 8 projects that MacGregor and Keasey have assembled, including episodic, both long-form and short-form, and limited series. The company has said that it is currently in talks with “A-list directors to help produce their own animated films.” Hum-AI-ne ©ontent’s first project will be the animated family adventure title Gelert: A Prince Rises, which is currently in pre-production. Keasey has also developed a fast-paced action film called Renegade Racer starring Scott Waugh (The Expendables 4), which could potentially join Hum-AI-ne ©ontent’s slate.
