Netflix’s crime anthology series Monster Season 3 has seen some new additions to the cast in the form of Olivia Williams, Laurie Metcalf, and Tom Hollander. The Ryan Murphy-led series has been a talking point among many viewers for its depiction of true crime stories. While the first installment garnered much controversy upon its release, Netflix renewed it for Seasons 2 and 3 in November 2022. The second installment, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, is set to release on September 19, 2024.

Following the success of the first two installments, Netflix's Monster series will now focus on the story of notorious convicted serial killer Ed Gein.
According to Variety, with new cast members joining, work on Monster Season 3 is set to begin soon. According to the outlet, Laurie Metcalf has joined the show in the role of Augusta Wilhelmine Gein, Ed Gein’s mother. Additionally, Netflix has brought in talent such as Tom Hollander, who will play Alfred Hitchcock. Meanwhile, The Sixth Sense star Olivia Williams is set to take on the role of Hitchcock’s wife, Alma Reville.
Ed Gein was convicted of two murders he committed in the 1950s. He was also held responsible for desecrating graves and making grotesque souvenirs of the bodies. Charlie Hunnam plays Gein in the Netflix series.
