While new streaming video bundles seem to be hitting the market all the time, music streaming bundles are much rarer. But consumers are craving more convenience in a landscape overcrowded with subscription services, according to a recent study conducted by tech company Bango.
Disney+, Hulu and Max join forces for streaming mega bundle
The research found that music streamers have a strong desire for 'super bundling' of subscriptions with a provider as a means of better managing the broad distribution of entertainment products. According to the results, 80% of music streamers want one app to manage all their subscriptions, with the research also showing significant overlap between music streaming and other subscription services.
According to the research, 82% of music streamers subscribe to SVOD services, and nearly 70% pay for retail memberships, including Walmart+ and Amazon Prime. While these programs have formed strong partnerships with video streaming platforms like Paramount+, most music streamers have yet to tap into a potentially underserved market.
Meanwhile, music and video streaming bundles do exist, but they’re few and far between. Hulu is bundled with Spotify, just for students, while Amazon Music can be paired with the tech giant’s Prime Video service, Apple One includes both Apple Music and Apple TV+, and YouTube Premium also offers YouTube Music.
