Senate President Jinggoy Estrada on Thursday filed Senate Resolution No. 1122, seeking to express the highest national appreciation to Petecio for the honor she brought to the country.
“Petecio embodied the relentless pursuit of excellence with her mantra of ‘walang hinto hangga’t walang ginto’ (don’t stop until there’s gold) and many years of hard work and intense training since she started competing in the sport in 2007,” Estrada said in a press release.
Petecio, he said, has already left a mark in Philippine boxing history through the Olympic successes of Jose Villanueva in 1932, Anthony Villanueva in 1964, Leopoldo Serantes in 1988, Roel Velasco in 1992 and Mansueto Velasco Jr. in 1996.
