NATAS has responded to a request from over 150 entertainment industry leaders to reclaim Bisan Atef Owda’s 2024 Emmy nomination for News and Documentary this year.

Owda was nominated alongside media outlet AJ+ for Outstanding Hard News Feature Story Short Form at the 2024 News & Documentary Emmys for It's Bisan From Gaza and I'm Still Alive. The documentary chronicles her family's plight as they flee the bombing of their home in Beit Hanoun and make their way to the so-called safe zone of Al-Shifa Hospital.
Owda regularly posted video and livestream reports from the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.
The nonprofit Creative Community For Peace alleges that Owda has documented ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a designated terrorist organization by the United States.
